Dohany Synagogue Courtyard- Mass Grave Before the ghetto survivors were liberated in January 1945, 10,000 Jews had died of starvation, exposure, illness or as victims of Nazi violence during the preceeding two months. They were buried in this mass grave.	Dohany Synagogue Complex - Mass Grave Many victims had no surviving relatives. The markers were put up by friends and families of victims but do not mark individual graves.
