Sanibel Christmas

For Christmas break in 2006 Kim and I went to Florida where Katie was working at the Clinic for the Rehabilitation Of Wildlife.  Louise organized the trip for us so she and Bob were there the same time we were.  Michael, Sandra, and Sunny visited as well, overlapping our visit by a couple days at the end.

Driftwood
Here's some driftwood that I thought looked cool.

Pelican
We got up close and personal with a couple pelicans by the fishing wharf.

Pelican fishing
His beak can hold more than his belly can.

Woodpecker
Walking back from the lighthouse area to the car, we spotted this male "Red bellied" woodpecker. Looks like a red head to me, but what do I know?

Trees
We road our bikes around the Bailey Tract area. This was a neat-looking tree that didn't really photograph well.

The Moon
The moon was out...

Heron & Anhinga
Not a great picture, but there's a heron, an anhinga, and a whole bunch of ducks.

Lizard
This was the closest thing we saw to an alligator. Louise, Bob, and Katie saw gators, but not us.

Turtles On A Log
Not as scary as snakes on a plane. There's a nice reflection of the land in the water.

Michael & Sandra
On our last day, there was time for some tennis with the other side of the family. Here's the brother and sister team.

Sunny & Kim
And here Sunny and Kim stand ready.
