Flåm and the ferry through Sognefjord

We arrived in Flåm and stayed over night.  We had plenty of time for picture taking in the morning since our expressboat to Bergen didn't leave until 3:30.  We spent the time walking around, taking pictures, eating, and watching the tourist buses come and go.  At 3, we boarded the boat and had an amazing ride through the world's longest fjord, Sognefjord, then down the coast to our final destination of Bergen.

Here's the hotel that we stayed in. Our room was one of the ones over on the left with a small balcony. The hotel was the largest structure in Flåm by far.
Since we weren't in such a rush, I had a chance to go photograph the train we came down on. You can't tell from this picture, but it has 5 sets of breaks.
On to the more important stuff -- the view from the harbor was breathtaking. This was about a 30 second walk from our hotel.
Here's a little closer view.
We took a little walk up a road that winds up the mountainside and got some great views. You can see that even a decent-sized cruise ship can come into port here thanks to the depth of the waters fjord.
Looking to the left, this view captures just about all of Flåm.
One more view looking towards the fjord again.
I tried to get a little artsy with this one...
I walked a little further up the road and got this picture of most of Flåm.
I just couldn't stop taking pictures of this. This is from my spot up the road. I hoped the ship would leave, but it was there for quite a while.
