Fish!
There were lots of fish swimming around. Not surprisingly, they were only in the water.

Kim and the Fish
Still at the Japanese garden, here's Kim posing with some of the other fish.

Black and White
Since it was a grey day, I thought I'd try one in black and white.

Road in to Mt. St. Helens
Wednesday morning, Kim, Debbie, and I set off for Mount St. Helens. Here's a view as we're heading in. The mountain is obscured by clouds in the back.

Mountain and Hummocks
A view from another visitor center. The rough terrain in front of the mountain here was created from chunks of the mountain, called hummocks, that were blown off during the eruption. The crator is visible to the left of center on the mountain.

Johnston Ridge Ranger Talk
Up at the furthest visitor center in, we listened to the ranger talk about the eruption. The ridge is named for an observer who was killed there at what he thought was a safe distance of several miles.

Mt St Helens
The mountain, or as much of it as we could see. It is 5 miles away in this picture from the Ridge. After the ranger talk, we watched the cheesy video about the events surrounding the eruption.

Kim and the Volcano
Kim is here with the volcano. It was pretty cold and windy at Johnston Ridge so we took a quick walk but didn't stay long.

Debbie & Hummocks
On our way back, we stopped for a short hike along the Hummocks Trail. Deb is showing us her Bean pose.
