I walked the length of the fortress and realized the only entrace was back where I started. Here's another look at the 'castle' part of it.
Ahh, here's the entrace. The skies were starting to clear up, but the blue was still only patchy.
One more view of the tall part of the fortress.
Inside the fortress, the grounds were turned into a park. Curiously, one of the guys in this picture is one we saw on our boat whom we nicknamed Suit Guy.
A nice view of the opposite side of the inlet across from the fort.
The Mariakirken (St. Mary's Church), a short way up from the fortress. Originally a 12th century church, it has been added onto during the 15th and 16th centuries.
On my way back from the fortress, I walked along one block up from the water.
The hodge-podge of roofs of the buildings along the waterfront was neat. Unfortunately, I didn't really capture it here.
Here's one more try.
I headed back to the hotel and met up with Peter. We walked back along past the marketplace and on to Fløibanen, the train up Fløyen Mountain
