Here's a view on our way up the finicular. The finicular looked like a train, only it was built on a slant so it could go up this steep slope. As far as I can tell, it sat on a track, but it was drawn up with a cable.

We reached the top and were treated to a spectacular view. The picture doesn't do it justice. Quick anatomy lesson: the right-most port is the major pedestrian area. At the inner end is the fish market, and all the way out on the right (the green area) is the fortress.

This fountain/pond called Lille Lungegårdsvann was right by our hotel (which is the first large building along the street leading into the fountain area).

We came back down after really enjoying the view. Here's where we were, looking back up from the pond you saw earlier.

All the 7-Elevens in Norway seemed to be advertising with this sign. The Norwegians are supposed to be pretty out-there with their sexuality.

"Look Mom, no seagull!" I had to act quickly to get a picture without the seagull... usually one only left because another flew in.
|
|
|
I don't know who this is, but he too is sticking with the style of the day and is wearing a seagull on his head.
