The evil villain chairs in the lobby of the Radisson
SAS Royal. We waited in these chairs for Mike and Kairi's train to
arrive. |
A stairway up from the lobby of the hotel... it looked
pretty cool. |
We wondered through Strøget and eventually
arrived at Nyhavn. (Pronounced kind of like Noohavn). |
Nyhavn used to be the sailors' quarters, but more
recently has become a very pretty row of outdoor cafes. Apparently,
they sometimes call it "The longest bar in Copenhagen". |
It was getting close to Palace tour time, so we turned
around. On the way back we saw this spire atop the stock exchange
(it's three dragons' tails intertwined). |
We went through this hallway into the central courtyard
of the Palace. |
Peter and Kairi have donned there slippers for the
palace tour. Sadly, no pictures were allowed during the actual tour. |
Mike and Kairi in the entry hall to the palace after
the tour. The palace is sort of a "live" palace in that it is used for
state functions. It is very modern and everything we saw (the
reception rooms) was stunningly beautiful. |
Here's the entry hall. Guests arrive here and there's
a cloak room and lockers. Compared to what is in the palace, this room
is incredibly dull. Large statues of titans (or is it Atlas?) support
the ceiling. |

We got another view of the Børsen (stock
exchange), built in the early 1600s by Christian IV. |
